The Federal Government yesterday gave a firm assurance that the outcome of investigations into the ill-fated Beechcraft 1900D plane belonging to Wings Aviation Limited plane would be made public as soon as relevant agencies conclude their work.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation, Mrs. Rhoda Illiya also condoled the families of the victims of the crashed plane which was declared missing on March 15.
“The outcome of both the hospital analysis and the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) investigations will be made known to the public,” it assured.
The statement said that the recovery of the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) popularly called Black Box and the cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) was made possible with the assistance of the military.
“The Accident Investigation Bureau is expected to carry out further investigations on the crashed plane to reveal the probable cause (s) of the accident with a view to preventing future occurrences,” the statement said.
The statement also conveyed the sympathy of President Umaru Yar’Adua and that of government of the federation to the families and relations of the victims and prayed for the fortitude for them to bear the irreparable loss.
The wreckage of the aircraft was two weeks ago found by hunters in the Busi village in Obalinku Local Government area of Cross River State.
The wreckage site was located with the assistance of Cross River State government and local hunters.
