Paint the town red

A man wlked into the embassy for visa to travell but was refused visa saing that the information given by his son and his own informaton are different. the man gets home and asks his son wat he told the embassy people that made them refuse him visa.

this is the following conversation that took place.
Dad: wat did u tell the embassy officers that made them refuse me visa?
Son:they asked me ur favorite colour
Dad: and wat did u tell them?
Son: I told them red
Dad: ok no problem. wat about my occupation?
Son: i told them ur a painter.
Dad: what? who told u am a painter?
Son cos  i always hear u telling ur friends that ur going to paint the town RED
