NIGERIA
Nigeria upset the odds in their second 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup to defeat South Korea which has given the Nigerians a chance at progressing to the last 16 but face a tough task against France here.
The Nigerians went ahead via an own goal before Asisat Oshoala sealed the win with a 75th minute effort but they are again expected to make several changes to their starting XI after making four changes from the side that lost 3-0 to Norway.

FRANCE
France overcame a shocking own goal by Wendie Renard to secure their second win at the World Cup after all but securing their place in the last 16 with a win over Norway.
The French went ahead through Valerie Gauvin before they were pegged back because of Renard’s mishap but a Eugenie le Sommer goal with just under 20 minutes left saw the hosts win again.
Gauvin was the only change to the French starting XI from the 4-0 win over South Korea as she replaced Delphine Cascarino and her goal should be enough to see her retain her place with France expected to make minimal changes for this game with them still needing at least a point to ensure they progress.

THE PREDICTION
Nigeria gave themselves a shot at securing an unlikely spot in the last 16 of the Women’s World Cup by beating South Korea but will need to upset hosts France to give themselves the best chance possible. The French have won both of their games so far and despite not playing to their potential against Norway, they did well to claim the game in a high-quality encounter. Nigeria will play with plenty of energy on the counter but are likely to fall short against France who will progress as group winners with a win.
