In addition to all agatex said above, beads serves different purposes in various tradition.

it has been in use for a very long time,even before the arrival of colonization, civilization...

our forefathers used it as orthodox for various ailments,as well as beauty enhancer etc

But since, civilization arrived, we have neglect our tradition, thus, we start seeing

most of our traditional practices as fetish.

i use to wear beads cos i love it but stop cos my boyfriend friend it juju so i had to remove it
and throw it into dustbin infont of them.
