Police in Ogun State have arrested a 50-year-old man, Kayode Oladehinde, for allegedly defiling his teenage stepdaughter (name withheld).
The suspect, who impregnated the 13-year-old victim, also attempted to abort the pregnancy by giving her drugs which resulted to her bleeding profusely.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect Saturday, said the incident happened on February 4 at Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
Oyeyemi stated that the suspect had no tangible excuse for committing the crime but only pleaded for forgiveness from his wife and stepdaughter.
He said: “Men of the Ogun State Police Command on 5th of February 2020 arrested one Kayode Oladehinde ‘m’ a resident of Olope Street Ogijo for defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter (name withheld).
“The suspect was arrested following a report from the mother of the victim who complained at Ogijo Divisional Headquarters that her daughter informed her on the 4th of February 2020 that the suspect, who is her present husband, sometimes recently forcefully had carnal knowledge of her as a result of which she got pregnant.”
