Police arrest man for stealing pregnant sheep

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA - A 19-year-oldman, Iddris Abdallah has been arrested and placed in police custody for allegedly stealing four pregnant sheep at Mempasem a suburb of Accra.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)Matthew Teye Tetteh, Legon District Police Commander, said the suspect who tethered the four sheep around an electric pole in the vicinity was arrested when a retired Chief Inspector of Police George MacCarthy and one Akoto laid ambushed for him.

He said after waiting for 30 minutes Abdallah emerged with a taxi at the scene to convey the stolen animals. Luck eluded Abdallah when Inspector MacCarthy and his colleague emerged from their hideout and confronted him.
