Lack of understanding, dats d basic cause of divours. 'd man has his own opinion abt a tin nd d woman has her's,, so no ones is listening 2 each other; sometimes, most ppl mari's bcose of sometin dey c's in deir spouce 'could b material tins or beauty or shapes' and wen its gone, dey start a fight so wit dat, dey can get a new one.

In a relationship where tolerance, patience and unselfishness is missing, all road leads to divorce and, this tend to have a terrible impact on the children involved. A society or couples faced with constant struggles almost on daily basis to earn a living and be happy, a minor slip up by either partner can be over-blown and the line of trust broken.
My suggestion is that couples should learn to work as a team rather than competitor.  When you what as a team, you are contented, live within you means, compliment each other and provide for the "needs" of your family.  Most of this "needs", money cannot buy.  Right now, our morals are out of place in Nigeria and true love/trust/loyalty/values/culture are being slaughtered at the altar of chasing money NOT wealth. In a society with  firmly rooted moral compass, divorce rates are relatively low...We (individually and as a family) need to re-evaluate our morals.

The major cause of divorce in recent time can be traced on lost of marriage values. People have lost the values for marriage. Imagine a lady getting married to a man just because the guy is rich, handome, tall etc. When money, good cars and houses are available every other thing about the guy is immaterial. The same goes for the guys who marry out of beauty or class putting moral values in the trash.
We give God conditions and the type of marriage we want. One lady wanted to get married to a white man at all cost. She went on the internet. One thing led to another and she got hucked. The whity proposed and she accepted. The man sent money for marriage arrangements etc. When the man arrived Nigeria for the wedding, the girl fainted on beholding the man's face.
Goodluck people.

Practically, love fade in some cases and honestly having kids together is not enough reason to remain in an unhappy marriage.regardless of Cheating each other non_challancy kills relationships.Especially in women cos the always relax after marriage and making babies, they simple dont care about those things that kept them attractive to men ie adding wieght, looking smart, etc.Men are like babies and need to be carried along always cos after a while women become unattractive which boosts the spirit of Variety in MEN and they begin to check out better ones out there..My advice is that women should try in thier little best way to keep up those things in them that attracted the man and not relax cos one is now Married.

Partners tend to know each other before getting married. Each one concentrate on how and where to get money instead of building an understanding and happier life. They can spend many years together without knowing each other deeply. Women of this days dont wanna stay at home like our mom did, they rather prefer mingling within men who deceived and lured them with fake things.... How do u expect ur wife to respect u wen someone somewhere can give her big bucks anytime she wanted. Women failed to understand the essence of life... the only way u will find happiness in ur home is when u sincerely love and care for your family and genuinely show interest in all they do. If couple will unite, work together and forget about what people say, divorce will never exists in that family..
in nutshell, keywords to happier marriage are; Love, Caring, Contention, Respect, Sacrifice, and above all PATIENCE!
