Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has disclosed that his successor would do more demolition of houses than what he is currently doing.

The governor made the submission when he featured on a radio programme in the state capital. According to him, some residents of the state who were allegedly calling him a demolisher and praying for his tenure to end soon may never see happiness because the next governor would do more demolition than him.

He said:“When we started working on school construction they said we are not providing roads now we are working on roads they said we are not empowering people.

“If sharing money at night is what they mean by empowering people, they should keep insulting us.

“The masses who we are working for appreciate what we are doing for them.

“You know the election is approaching and they see me as a demolisher “Mai rusau” so they think that maybe the next person that will come after me will not demolish but he will demolish more than I do, God willing,”

In recent developments, Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai called for an all hands on deck approach to tackle with insecurity in the country.

According to him, the fight against insecurity requires the cooperation of all states and for security managers and intelligence agencies to share information. He made the disclosure at the 2021 second quarter meeting of Directors of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) in North-West states.

In his words: “Any plan that seeks to address the problem in only one state will at best yield a temporary respite as the criminals will retreat to safe havens.

‘’The security agencies need to strengthen intelligence gathering, to establish not just the identities, plans and locations of these criminals, but to actively disrupt their capacity to organise and mount attacks on our citizens.

‘’But it is also very important to ensure that prompt and coordinated action becomes the default response of the Armed Forces and the Police to the profusion of actionable intelligence that is already available,’’
