THE Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the declaration of the Chief Dejo Afolabi-led state executive as legally constituted by an Abuja High Court as “the victory of truth over falsehood.”

Speaking with Saturday Tribune on the outcome of the legal suit instituted by Senator Lekan Balogun in Abuja High Court,  Special Adviser, Political Matters to the state governor, Mr. Asimiyu Alarape, said, “the decision of the court to throw out the suit which challenged the legality of the Dejo Afolabi-led state executive is simply the victory of truth over falsehood.”

According to Alarape, “the recognition of the Dejo Afolabi-led executive by the court is a vindication that there was, indeed, a legally held congress in the state contrary to claims by Senator Balogun and his group that there was no congress.”

He stated further that “the court judgment is a further confirmation and recognition of the acceptance of the leadership of Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala in the party and the state.

”Let me at this juncture call on those who are still sitting on the fence to join the mainstream so that we can together move the party and state forward.”

He disclosed that by this judgment, “we have been vindicated because we had all along been saying that Senator Lekan Balogun  and his groups were embarking on a wild goose chase.  We have had a lot of judgments on this matter, as this one has shown that the state executive committee of our party in the state was duly put in place   under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission  by (INEC) in 2008.”
