cheating girlfriend

I recently found out that my girlfriend of two years has been cheating with an ex. I want to forgive her and make this work. I told her she is not allowed to see or talk to that ex ever again. I can't seem to trust her like I used too I am not a bad guy either, I got her a dog because she said she is lonely when I'm gone. Any advice?

@poster if there is no trust in a relationship then that relationship cant work so let her go or let go of the reasons you dont trust her
