Bayern Munich forward, Thomas Muller, has waded into the debate about who is the better player between Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
Speaking to ESPN, Muller picked Lewandowski over Benzema when asked to choose between both strikers.
The Germany international was asked questions ranging from football to other miscellaneous subjects like food and music.
In one such question, the 33-year-old had to pick one between Lewandowski and Benzema.
While choosing the Poland international, Muller said the following:
“I have to go for Lewandowski, but Benzema had a very good season, he’s a very good player.”
Meanwhile, it comes as no surprise that Muller picked Lewandowski as the pair were teammates at Bayern Munich for eight seasons and were excellent in attack.
Both players won numerous honours together, including eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals and the 2020 UEFA Champions League title while playing for Bayern Munich.
