Big Brother Naija star Venita Akpofure's ex-husband Terna Tarka has come out to debunk her derogatory statements in the Big Brother Naija house, stating that TIV men give their wives to their guests for entertainment.
In a video uploaded to his Instagram page on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, her ex-husband addressed the public on the matter. He spoke on behalf of all TIV men, outrightly debunking the narrative. Tarka then stressed that he never gave Venita out to their guests for any pleasure at any point in time during their marriage.
He said, "I am here to address a very controversial narrative making rounds on social media. This is regarding a statement saying that when TIV men house guests, they give their wives out to these men for pleasure. Speaking as a proud TIV man who was born into one of the most prominent families. I would like to categorically state that in all my years of hosting my guests, even the thought of such a derogatory practice has never crossed my mind. So, therefore, such a thing never occurred in my marriage. I speak on behalf of all TIV men when I say that such a practice does not happen."
However, Venita herself issued a public apology on the matter after her eviction from the Big Brother Naija All Stars season. The apology came after the backlash she received for her statement, especially from the apex Tiv socio-cultural organisation. At the time the member representing Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dickson Tarkighir, had threatened legal actions against the reality TV star.
As a result of the fact that Venita already apologised for her statement a month ago, her ex-husband has received some backlash on social media, with many calling him a clout chaser for bringing it up.
