Nigerians were left furious after the national team were held to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho, in the first game of their 2026 World Cup qualifying series.
The Super Eagles were typically lethargic despite playing at home at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Eventually, the visitors took the lead through Motlemelo Mkhwanazi in the second half.
Nigeria were level in the 67th minute thanks to Semi Ajayi’s header.
Jose Peseiro’s men will now face Zimbabwe in their next game on Sunday.
The result left supporters fuming at the poor performance from the three-time African champions.
@iam__sodiq: the coach is just cashing out unnecessarily. He should have been sacked a long time ago
@Oladapomikky1: So even how hard the country dey, super eagles no fit beat Lesotho to put smile on our faces.
Them just dei cut bet anyhow.
@Tee_Classiquem1: Imagine drawing against Lesotho that is ranked 153 by FIFA at your backyard, so many things is wrong with this team including the manager himself
@CAnochiwa: You guys just spoilt my weekend mehn. Nothing works in this country. Even that goal keeper sef always looking lost.
@iamgodwinantai: What exactly do you guys need to win a game against Lesotho.
Someone will say there’s no small team in football no more but countries like Egypt will be showing their class.
Why does that statement always hold away where Super Eagles are involved.
