In a candid revelation, Big Brother Naija alumna and renowned disc jockey, Tolani Shobajo, popularly known as Tolanibaj, has shared her apprehensions about undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, citing concerns for her safety and well-being.
During a recent episode of the Bahd And Boujee Podcast, co-hosted by Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe, the reality star delved into her internal struggle with the idea of cosmetic enhancement, particularly BBL surgery.
Tolanibaj candidly confessed, "There was a time I wanted to do BBL but I was scared of dying. I said, ‘If my enemy should die right now, is it going to be because I went under the knife? Does that make sense?’ I really tried to convince myself."
The discussion shed light on the societal pressures and personal dilemmas faced by individuals contemplating cosmetic procedures, as Tolanibaj navigated the complex terrain of body image and self-acceptance.
Echoing her sentiments, co-host Moet Abebe expressed fatigue with the prevalent trend of exaggerated proportions and emphasized the importance of authenticity in self-expression.
"To be honest, I'm tired of seeing SpongeBobs, a lot of girls that look like ants with big bumbums and skinny legs," remarked Abebe, reflecting on the pervasive influence of unrealistic beauty standards.
Tolanibaj reinforced the importance of making informed decisions and prioritizing safety when considering cosmetic enhancements, urging individuals to seek reputable medical practitioners and eschew shortcuts in pursuit of aesthetic ideals.
"Is it by force to do BBL? If you are going to do BBL, go to a good doctor and spend that money. Don't be cheap about it," advised Tolanibaj, underscoring the significance of diligence and discernment in matters of personal health and well-being.
As the conversation resonated with listeners, Tolanibaj's candid reflections served as a poignant reminder of the complexities surrounding body image and the importance of embracing authenticity in a world inundated with societal pressures and beauty standards.
