Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has reaffirmed the agency's unwavering stance against all forms of financial or economic malpractice, asserting that no one found culpable will be spared.

In a statement released on Monday by Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, Olukoyede made these remarks in Abuja during an anti-corruption concert aimed at raising awareness and public participation in the fight against internet-related crimes.

Emphasizing the EFCC's dedication to a comprehensive campaign against corrupt practices, Olukoyede stated, "We will not spare anyone. We will not spare the mega thieves. As we are doing the mega, we will also do those at the lower end."

Highlighting recent efforts, he noted, "In the last two months, we have arraigned two former governors. So, it is not true that we are only focused on internet fraudsters. Of course, internet fraud is bad enough, but our focus is on every form of economic and financial crimes."

Expressing concern for the youth, Olukoyede cautioned against involvement in internet-related offenses, underscoring the severe consequences associated with conviction for such crimes. He emphasized the long-term impact on careers and societal stigma associated with being an ex-convict.

"Youths need to know that being ex-convicts has career limitations. Ex-convicts can’t run for public offices; the stigma alone is even terrible," he warned, urging them to prioritize their future over short-term gains from illicit activities.

Olukoyede affirmed the EFCC's commitment to providing youths with a promising and sustainable future, signaling the agency's proactive approach to combatting financial crimes and fostering a culture of integrity.
