In a chilling revelation, it has emerged that Nicholas Metson, 28, who stands accused of murdering his wife, Holly Bramley, 26, and dismembering her body into over 200 pieces, had a history of cruelty towards animals, including killing their pets in brutal ways.
The horrifying details of Metson's actions unfolded in court as prosecutors recounted the disturbing events that led to Bramley's tragic death. Metson allegedly stabbed Bramley at least four times in March 2023 before dismembering her body and storing her remains in the kitchen larder of their shared flat in Shuttlesworth, Lincoln, UK.
During investigations into Bramley's disappearance, Metson callously joked with police officers, suggesting she might be hiding under the bed. However, it was later revealed that Metson had solicited the help of a friend, Joshua Hancock, offering him £50 to assist with disposing of Bramley's remains by dumping them in the River Witham in Bassingham.
A member of the public discovered some of Bramley's body parts in the river on March 25, initially mistaking them for animal remains until he noticed a human hand among the debris.
According to reports, Metson had a history of cruelty towards animals and had previously subjected their pets to horrific abuse as a means of "punishing" Bramley. One particularly gruesome incident involved Metson putting their new dog in a washing machine, resulting in its death. He also allegedly killed their hamsters by placing them in a food blender and microwave.
Bramley's mother, Annette, described Metson as an "evil monster" and lamented the loss of her daughter, whom she described as "beautiful, kind, and loving." She recounted the pain of knowing that Bramley's last moments were filled with agony at the hands of someone devoid of regard for human life.
Metson initially denied killing his wife but later changed his plea to guilty. He also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by disposing of Bramley's body. As the case progresses, Metson faces the possibility of life imprisonment for his heinous crimes.
