Two Suspected Kidnappers, Ahmed Audu & Adebayo Abayomi Apprehended In Jigawa State

In a proactive move, the Jigawa State Police Command has successfully arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in a kidnapping threat against a 52-year-old businessman and his family.

According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the spokesperson of the command, the suspects, identified as Ahmed Audu and Adebayo Abayomi, were apprehended following a report lodged by the victim, Dauda Adamu, on May 16, 2024.

Adamu reported to the B/Kudu Division that he had received threatening phone calls from unknown persons, demanding money under the threat of kidnapping himself and his family.

Swiftly responding to the report, officers from the B/Kudu Division initiated investigations into the matter. Acting on a tip-off received on May 19, the police arrested Ahmed Audu, 27, from Basirka town in Gwaram LGA, and Adebayo Abayomi, 26, from Ogigi village in Ijumu LGA of Kogi state.

The suspects were brought in for interrogation and subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further discreet investigation.

During questioning, Ahmed Audu and Adebayo Abayomi confessed to their involvement in the crime. Additionally, the SIM pack of the phone number used to threaten the complainant was recovered from the suspects.

The arrests represent a significant breakthrough in combating criminal activities in the state, demonstrating the commitment of the Jigawa State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of residents.
