The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended Mahmud Adam, 43, in connection with a car theft and recovered a stolen SUV in Gwaram Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Shiisu Adam, announced on Sunday, June 16, that the suspect was detained on Saturday, June 15. This arrest followed a report of a stolen Honda CRV, with registration number DKD 10 AG, belonging to Abba Yahya from Gano town, Dawakin Kudu LGA of Kano State.
According to DSP Shiisu, the vehicle was reportedly en route to Maiduguri, Borno State, when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gwaram and his team intercepted it on the Sara-Darazo road.
DSP Shiisu confirmed that the suspect and the recovered vehicle have been transferred to the Kano State Police Command for further investigation. The swift action by the Jigawa police underscores their commitment to curbing crime and ensuring the safety of citizens and their properties.
