The Adekolure family in Benin, Edo State, is mourning the tragic loss of their daughter, Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was brutally r*ped and murdered in the Iyowa Community. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for justice from the victim’s relatives and the community at large.
According to the deceased's sister, the 22-year-old had gone to her school on June 13 to complete her clearance process following her graduation in April 2024. Tragically, she never returned home alive. Her lifeless body was discovered close to their residence, showing signs of assault and bl**ding from her private parts, indicating she had been s*xually assaulted.
"We need all the help we can get. Our sister was brutally attacked on her way back from school," the sister lamented. "We found her body with obvious signs of assault, and we immediately reported the matter to the Ekiadolor police division in Benin. Her body has been deposited at the morgue. We implore the authorities to investigate thoroughly and ensure those responsible face the full consequences of their actions."
The heinous crime has prompted demands for swift and thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice. The Adekolure family, supported by the community, is calling on relevant authorities to expedite the investigation and prosecute those found guilty to serve as a deterrent against such atrocities.
As the family grieves their heartbreaking loss, they are determined to seek justice for Adekolure Idowu Glory, whose promising life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence.
