Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has retracted his tweets that announced the Federal Government's policies aimed at reducing food prices.
He clarified to Peoples Gazette that the memo regarding tariffs on rice and other food items was mistakenly shared as it is still under consideration.
Onanuga explained, “The policy was mistakenly circulated. We are still deliberating internationally from the agric ministry to other agencies on how best to proceed with the policy.”
He also apologized for the error and acknowledged the potential impact of such policies on the Nigerian populace, who have been enduring economic hardships.
But many Nigerians are not having his explanations.
