Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a notorious cult leader in Oja Odan, Yewa-North Local Government Area. The suspect, 35-year-old Olamilekan Akojede, was arrested on Friday at around 2:30 pm.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Akojede, who heads the cult group known as Alora, had been on the police watch list for some time due to his involvement in terrorizing and instilling fear within the community.
"Akojede, the number one leader of the Alora confraternity, was arrested by the DPO Oja Odan and will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation," Odutola said. "He has been causing panic in the area and has been on our watch list."
Odutola emphasized the command’s commitment to eradicating cultism in Ogun State and urged other cult members to reconsider their paths and embrace positive change. "They should learn from this arrest and consider the amnesty program to become better members of society," she added.
