Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, has voiced his skepticism following the release of the first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Aliko Dangote’s newly operational refinery.

The refinery, located in Ibeju-Lekki, was officially announced on Tuesday during a high-profile webcast, boasting a massive 650,000 barrels-per-day capacity as it transitions from test runs to full production.

While the refinery’s launch has garnered significant attention, Verydarkman has not shied away from criticizing the situation. He questioned the sudden approval for Dangote’s refinery to produce petrol, despite the previous disputes between the billionaire and the government. His critique hints at possible covert government concessions and questionable politics behind the scenes.

Verydarkman also raised concerns about the possibility of Dangote monopolizing the oil sector, drawing comparisons to his dominant control in the cement industry and other markets. In a recent press conference, Dangote thanked the government for facilitating the refinery’s operations and emphasized that the facility would not only meet Nigeria’s fuel needs but also serve sub-Saharan Africa. He also highlighted the refinery’s capacity to ensure transparency and accountability in fuel consumption and distribution.

Verydarkman, sit this one out. Sit it out. Around 23 individuals/organizations were given the license to construct refineries, 23 of them. Only Dangote went ahead with the construction. He didn't stop the remaining 22. Do you know what it means investing 25billion dollars in a country like Nigeria ruled by vampires??? Dangote said his friends warned him not to invest that amount in Nigeria, they were laughing at him when the oil cabal were trying to frustrate him. If you have billions of dollars to invest, getting a license is easy, go build your own refinery.
