Sonia Desuwa, ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has once again expressed appreciation for her former husband’s efforts in co-parenting their children, despite their marital differences. In a recent Instagram post, Sonia revealed that their child custody battle had been made more difficult due to the influence of a family pastor, whom she accused of manipulation.
Sonia thanked Ighalo for his continuous support, sharing her frustrations over the role the pastor allegedly played in encouraging Ighalo to take their children away from her. Reposting a video from actor Uche Maduagwu, who commended her for speaking positively about Ighalo, she further alleged that the pastor attempted to exploit Ighalo’s wealth, demanding tithes before the breakdown of their marriage.
Without naming the pastor, Sonia hinted at his identity and criticized his actions. In her post, she wrote,

“The plan was ‘TAKE THE KIDS FROM SONIA.’ Someone who fought tirelessly to be present in his children’s life despite intense manipulation by his family and fraudulent pastors.”
She also condemned what she described as “Yahoo Yahoo pastors,” accusing them of using spiritual manipulation to profit from their followers, especially wealthy individuals like Ighalo. Sonia’s remarks have sparked speculation among fans, with many wondering who the pastor in question might be.
