A tragic incident occurred in the Oshodi area of Lagos State on Saturday, October 12, 2024, when a train struck and killed a 50-year-old man, identified only as Emmanuel. The accident took place near the Arena Shopping Mall.
According to police reports, Emmanuel's sister received a distressing phone call around 9 a.m. informing her of the fatal accident involving her brother. The Mosafejo Division of the Lagos State Police Command was alerted about the incident around 1:33 p.m. the same day.
In response to the report, police officials quickly dispatched a team of detectives to the scene to investigate. Photographs of the incident were taken for documentation purposes.
State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the deceased's body has been moved to a public morgue for an autopsy. He added that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident has been handed over to the Railway Police Command located in Ebute Metta. Authorities are now working to determine the details leading up to this tragic event.
