16yr Old Girl Arrested For Reportedly Poisoning Her Ex Boyfriend, Four Others to Death in Edo

This tragic incident in Edo State has garnered significant attention. According to reports, the Edo State Police Command recently apprehended a 16-year-old girl, Aisha Suleiman, who is suspected of poisoning her ex-boyfriend and four others.

The incident occurred on October 26, 2024, in the Afashio community in Uzairue, within Etsako Local Government Area.

The victims, Emmanuel Elogie, his girlfriend Ada Samuel, Nurudeen, and two siblings, Samuel and Jeffrey Ayegwalo, were reportedly found dead after consuming a poisoned meal, allegedly prepared by the suspect with intentions to target her ex-boyfriend.

Aisha Suleiman's apparent plan involved lacing a pepper soup meal with poison; however, it was unintentionally shared among her ex-boyfriend’s friends and his current girlfriend, who also fell victim.
 


 
The spokesperson of the command, SP Moses Joel Iyamu, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, October 31, said that operatives of Jattu Division rescued the suspect as she was about to be lynched by some young men from the community.
 
 
The PPRO added that the case was transferred next day to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discrete investigation.
 
“The command received a report on 26/10/2024 at about 0730hrs, from one Mr Elogie Ezekiel of Afashio community, that at about 0630hrs of same date, he went to check his son named Emmanuel Elogie 19yrs at his apartment,” the statement read.
 
"That upon gaining entrance into the apartment, he met the lifeless body of his son's friend named Nurudeen surname not known 'm' at the corridor, he went further and met the lifeless bodies of his son with his girlfriend Ada Samuel 'f' 16yrs on the bed in the bedroom, while another two (2) of the son's friends named Samuel Ayegwalo and Jeffrey Ayegwalo who turned out to be siblings found in the sitting room. They were evacuated to the hospital where the Doctor confirmed them dead.
 
"On 29/10/2024 at about 1710hrs, operatives of Jattu Division received information that a girl later identified as Aisha Suleiman 'f' 16yrs alleged to have caused the death of Emmanuel Elogie and four (4) others with food poison was about to be lynched by some young men from the community.
 
"They mobilised to the scene, rescued the suspect to the Station and the case was transferred next day to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discrete investigation.
 
"The Commissioner of Police, CP Umoru Peter Ozigi, psc, mnips has directed that no stone should be left unturned to ensure that the cause of death of these young people is established.
 
“He further warned against jungle justice, while assuring the general public that justice will be served at the end of investigation.”

These are very young people...what I don't understand is, how can an ex-girlfriend cook for you and your girlfriend and family and you will consume the food? The girl should be allowed to speak...where are the failed parents of these children who already are living the life of adults? If found guilty, she should be hanged publicly as a deterrent to others. Relationship is not by force!
