A young woman has shared her heartbreak after her boyfriend ended their relationship due to her family's financial situation. The story, narrated on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @momma_asad, recounts how a year-long relationship took a sudden turn following the boyfriend's visit to her family home.
The lady revealed that after her boyfriend met her parents two weeks ago, his behavior changed drastically. Calls and messages became infrequent, and when confronted, he admitted that the relationship could no longer continue.
The man allegedly cited her family’s financial condition as the reason for the breakup, pointing out their modest living conditions, such as damaged ceilings, tap water consumption, and the lack of suitable furniture for visitors. He expressed his unwillingness to join a family he believed might rely on him for financial support.
In his message, he reportedly said, “I can’t continue with the relationship. I saw poverty in your family, and I can’t get into a family that will depend on me for financial help.” Following this, he blocked her on social media and cut all forms of communication.
The distraught lady revealed that her father, a farmer, had worked hard to put her through university, and she had just completed her National Youth Service. Struggling with depression and feelings of rejection, she sought advice on how to heal and move forward.
