
The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has arrested two persons over alleged motorcycles thefts in Ekiti State.
In a statement by the Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Olu Adewa, disclosed that in Efon Local Government Area, Amotekun arrested two suspects, 20-year-old Emmanuel Eriba and 30-year-old John Ogbam, over theft and conspiracy.
Adewa stated that the local security is working around the clock to ensure a smooth Christmas and New Year celebration in the state.
He said: “The corps is unrelenting in its bid to reduce crime to the barest minimum in the state.
“The two suspects, who are residents of Efon Alaaye but hail from Benue State, were apprehended for allegedly stealing yam tubers and a TVS motorcycle owned by Mr Ajewole Segun at his farm.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, admitting they colluded and conspired against the complainant.
“All the suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have since been handed over to the police at the different divisions for further investigation and prosecution.”
