The Niger State Police Command has apprehended Jamilu Saidu, a resident of Kumbashi District in Mariga Local Government Area, in connection with the death of 30-year-old Iliyasu Aminu. The tragic incident occurred during an altercation at a wedding ceremony in the area.
Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the altercation broke out between two local villages—Yabawa and Ungwar Sarkin-Daji—during the celebration. The situation escalated when Jamilu allegedly struck Iliyasu on the head with a machete, resulting in his death.
Abiodun stated that Jamilu was promptly arrested and confessed to the crime. The suspect is among ten individuals recently apprehended by the police for various offenses across the state.
