What point??? Apart from Chieftaincy Title every other thing is rubbish!! Why should the church be the last point of call before any other place??? in the right sense the church should be the firts... God should come first!!
I don't understand, I must confess the Bishop is being myopic and an authoritarian and fails to be rationale. It is only right for a couple to got to the registry to register their marriage in the eys of the Law and then come to Chuch for a weeding afterwards or on a later date. Their is no underlying principle that traditional marriage must come first.
In addition, does it mean an unmarried pregnant woman is condemned to hell and shouldn't seek right in the eyes of God?? What happened to forgiveness. What the Church should do is to conscientize it's congregationon the need of not engaging in pre-marital sex and also to counsel defaulters and not come out with this kind of In-human laws!! he next thing that will happen is that Abortion etc will become rampant becos of such rigidity. it's better to treat a dying plant from the roots by moulding a faithful congregation rather than solving problems from the branches/leaves... doesnt make sense... Wasting everything at disposal for marriage is always condemned by men of God during advice time. The Bishop has declared his own stand thereby challenging the members to use their brain and make their choice. It is generally good to make it plain. It is better to be precise of your choice than to be a victim of RELIGIOUS versus TRADITIONAL WAR as long as Nigeria is concern. Many people value their heart as the only good thing in them giving little respect to their mind and no value to brain at all, but the call to recognize the place of brain in every human activity is still high in Africa. The highest and most enjoyable thing in human life is to have an active brain or mentality cos that is the only thing you can vouch for your offspring at your absent. My brother wedding in the church should be sacred. If ur wife is pregnant b/4 ur wedding then u have an option of Court marriage or the Traditional one..
