Retired Brazil and Santos striker Pele has vowed to send Lionel Messi a 2004 documentary of his career.

Recently, the Barcelona forward admitted he had never seen Pele play. While visiting the victims of the March earthquakes in Japan, the Brazil legend took time to comment on sporting matters and said that he would show Messi an account of his career.

"It is a normal thing when a player is compared [to a player from another time period], sometimes he is not interested in the comparison," Pele told Globoesporte. "If he really did not see me, I'll do what I once did with [Diego] Maradona: I'll send him the video 'Pele Eterno' and then he will."

Pele also praised his native Brazil for having depth in talent.

"Brazil have great players, it just takes time to bring the team together because we can make five world class teams," he added.

Mano Menezes' Brazil recently beat Mexico in a friendly match and have won four of its last five fixtures.
