I am flabbergasted that in a country like Nigeria, toothpick is among its imported goods. Please Nigerian government should heed the advise of the industrialist and stop importing things dat can be locally produced so that our infant industries will develop.

There's no reason why Nigeria cannot manufacture its own toothpicks, haba.

Importation of toothpick is not our problem, producing it in abundance, and cheaper locally is the solution.

what type of quality in toothpick are you trying to differentiate, my friend toothpick is toothpick, there is nothing like quality in toothpick side, but am still suprise to hear nigerians as a country cannot afford to produce for themselves the least of among all, common toothpick that i can even do by myself,  tufiakwa...........

controvercial competitive , am  not against if the government would react to the request but in  nigeria where our domestic usages ,is 98 percent imported, just go out there and see millions of products made in  nigeria and we nigeria may not caree to buy them unless its written made in china or dubai,
a shoe maker producer that swear never to wear his products, we ve created that love for foreign product

A country that wishes to advance itself should look to produce as much for itself as it can.  Jobs are needed in Nigeria so any initiative that creates jobs and stimulate the economy should be looked at.
