It is a welcome relief that the strike is over and people can return to work However, the fundamental problems in Nigeria remains. The governments needs to find solutions to the following problems. 1) Excessive corruption in federal, state and local governments 2) Youth unemployment. Too many people are without jobs 3) Poverty and the working poor 4) Clean drinking water 5) Power Supply (electricity) 6) Funding for Education 7) Highway and infrastructure construction (few good roads left) ![]() 9) Security...end Boko Haram and other similar groups violence against innocent people. 10) Repair domestic refineries, operate them at full capacity to stablize prices. 11) Transparency (& Honesty in Government) They are not listed in order of importance. They all need solutions. Sad thing is that every year, funds are allocated for their solutions and they are stolen. dan fulani

GOD BLESS NIGERIA True Sister BelindaJustin, we must not forget those who lost their lives fighting for all of us. They are true heroes. They died fighting for what they believe in. I hope this does not happen again and that the government learns from this and decided to care for the citizens. Our citizens need help from the governments there are no safety nets for the poor and working poor. dan fulani

You gave up too soon. Today is MLK Day in America and we fought to the death for the freedom and rights Blacks deserved. We expect Nigeria to do the same. You might need to rethink about your unions because our unions make sure we are paid when we strike. They also get us the results we ask for and not back down. Reply

I gave out some information to start a safety net intervention to some Nigerians I know. I guess it will take 20 years before something is started in that area. It will take them getting over their materialistic ways.
