Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Monday night, foiled a robbery operation in Obalende area of the state, recovering a locally-made gun and some suspected stolen items.
A three-man robbery gang, said to have snatched a bag from one of its victims, reportedly drove against traffic apparently on the look out for another, when it sighted the governor and his aides approaching.
The gang members immediately fled, abandoning their operational motorcycle and the bag.
The recovered item and unregistered motorcycle were handed over to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abubakar Manko, yesterday, by the Commissioner of Information, Mr. Lateef Ibirogba and the Chief Security Officer to Gov. Fashola, Mr. Adeshina Lawal.
Warning unscrupulous elements to leave the state, Lawal said the government would not relent in its efforts at making the state unconducive for them.
Receiving the recovered items, the CP assured that the command would double its effort to ensure the security of lives and property of Lagosians and also chase criminals out of the state.
