Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has debunked a viral WhatsApp message falsely attributed to her.

The message claimed she was receiving threats due to her meeting with President Bola Tinubu and praised his policies for attracting investors to Nigeria.

Okonjo-Iweala clarified that the statements circulating on social media are entirely fabricated and intended to cause discord among Nigerians

In reality, her visit to President Tinubu was focused on discussing how to support poor and vulnerable Nigerians and ways to boost economic growth through job creation

She emphasized the need for unity and warned against the divisive nature of such false information
