Oshiomhole's Aide assassinated

The Personal Secretary and Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Mr. Oyerinde Olaitan was last night assassinated in his house by unknown gunmen. The assailants who forcefully gained entrance into his flat shot at him
 
severally before the watchful eyes of his family and waited patiently till he gave up the ghost before they left. 
 
Olaitan, a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos joined Oshiomhole's cabinet few years ago. He hailed from Ede in Osun State and was happily married with kids. 
However, the State Government is yet to make any public statement on the incidence, but a top member of the Governor's cabinet confided in this Reporter that the incidence has already been reported to the Police.

It will be recalled that Governor Oshiomhole had earlier raised an alarm of plans by some high profile politicians to assassinate him and members of his Cabinet. 
 
Just last week, the Governor's convoy was involved in ghastly motor accident which claimed the lives of three Journalists, an incidence which the Governor described as an attempt on his life and not necessarily an accident. 
 
These developments are coming as the state prepares to go into what has been described by political analysts as the most fiercest Governorship election in Edo State history come July 14 this year.
