The Kaduna State Government on Thursday called on residents of  the state to shun  rumour mongering and pursue their legitimate activities and livelihood.

This is contained in a statement signed by the state's Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, in Kaduna.

Adamu said that rumours making the rounds about impending crisis was unfounded, adding that  security operatives were up and doing to keep the peace.

``The Government is calling on people to disregard current rumour being circulated, alleging eruption of fresh crisis in Kaduna. The state is calm and people should go about their businesses."

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  reports that the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Aminu Lawan,  had earlier debunked the rumour circulating in the state on an  impending crisis.

`` The rumour is totally unfounded, untrue, baseless, mischievous and should be ignored by the good people of Kaduna State." (NAN)
