Obviously, my definition of love is most like different from yours, and probably most people I have encountered-- be it on this site or in real life. So my quesion is: If it doesn't last eternally, is it love?

It could be!!
Love is long-suffering but it has its limits too and that's why it's HUMAN love.
Alotta factors enhances its lifespan and in the absence of those things,
It might fail quicker than expected but that doesn't mean it wasn't love while it lasted.
