GOOD OR BAD? FG’ll reintroduce tollgates on federal roads –FERMA (Page 3)

Why reintroduce highway tolling? Fashola I have so much confidence in u but I must confess I'm beginning to have a change of heart. Pls retract that decision ASAP

You're right on point @ ficull,we are again entering a regime of multiple taxing it isn't just fair that Fashola will be taking this tax menace to the federal level,we enjoy nothing from the government and yet they wouldn't let us be,Government abroad that task their citizen's so mercilessly also mercilessly provide all basic amenities for them,enough of divide and rule tactics, if the 1.50 added to fuel pump price per liter under the guise of facilitating road maintenance during Obasanjo tenure cannot be accounted for any-longer, then we don't mind if another 1.50 is incorporated into the pump price for the second time, at least this will ease the effect of erecting a toll gate that will keep sapping the public of their hard earned resources even after paying one levy or the other here and there, otherwise it should be mandated that a 500 toll ticket serve for a month for trucks and 200 for cars and should not be ''pay-every time-you-pass'' system,after all there are thousands of road users plying federal roads per day and maintenance work can't be a daily routine.

Chaaii,motorist are in trouble,only government officials will benefit cos they will not be paying for toll gate,money for transport fare go increase ,anywhere you dey go,poor masses are in troubleooooo.

How i wish our appointed or elected office holders can put into redressing and finding lasting solution to myriads of problems bedeviling this nation much the same strength they expedite to rip off the masses for not just cause,in developed countries Government fix facilities first then demand the public pay for its use,but here the masses pay for erection of public facilities and still pay for its usage,what a worrisome debacle. We will ever continue to be law abiding but government and our elite should change their mindset and the way they treat the masses of this country or how better can we put it when there is no good road anywhere and what we are hearing is government readiness to re-introduce toll at federal roads,Mr Fashola should please fix all federal roads first after that they can introduce whatever they wish we will gladly pay,not until this is done i think the government has no moral justification introducing anything that will drain the masses of their hard earn resources without offering any commensurable service(s) in return.

Fashola, all over the world you only toll new roads. You do
 not collect taxes from people to build roads and ask them to
 pay to use the roads.
I have no problem with you tolling your new or yet to be
 commenced Calabar Funtua road as soon as you complete
 it, but tolling Lagos-Ibadan-Ore-Onitsha-PortHarcourt road
 built by Oyinbo is not tainable. Why must the people always
 "pay a little"? When is government going to be taking
responsibility for herself? For example, the Lagos-Ibadan-
 Ore-Beni-Asaba-Onitsha-etc is a trans-Africa road
 (Mombasa-Lagos-Highway), running all the way from
 Dakar in Senegal to Mombassa in Kenya, where else do
 you have tolls other than Nigeria
 I send my children to private school, because government
 schools have no quality teachers.
 I provide my electricty because, as governor for 8 years you
 could not give light to your state, rather blaming FG
 ,I sank my borehole because as governor for 8 years, you
 could not supply portable water to the state
 I excavated the gutter on my street because you could not
build street roads nor provide drainage
I pay monthly fee for refuse collection, a duty that is
 generally a government responsibility world-over
 I pave my street road because for 8 years as governor you
 did not care, rather planting flowers at my round about
 I pay private security guard on my street because as
 governor for 8 years you could not provide security
I paid 27% of my salary to Lagos State as tax, yet I got no
 correct tax clearance certificate for same amount because
 one "Alpha-Beta" is in charge of the process
 I pay toll on Lekki road because my governor concessioned
 the service to his friends and bond me in for 15 years
 without option
I pay 5% VAT on all my purchases, yet government cannot
 tell me what they are doing with the money
Now you want to charge me toll for passing the road built
 with my taxes, years before you ever thought of going into
 government. What have you done with all my annual vehicle
 licence fee, MOT fee, advert fees, radio fees, road
 worthiness, etc?
PLEASE, OGA FASHOLA, GO BUILD NEW ROADS AND TOLL
 THEM, LEAVE THE ONES BUILT BY COLONIAL MASTERS!!!
IF YOU CANNOT MANAGE THE OFFICES BUHARI HAS
SADDLED YOU WITH, KINDLY RESIGN. IT IS NOT BY FORCE
TO BE MINISTER.
