The training which commenced in Ussa Local government and presently going on in Jalingo, the state capital, would equip participating youths with the knowledge of paint, liquid soap and air freshener production.
Other areas which the trainer, Ifeanyi Okoji said the trainees would be exposed to include, disinfectants; bar soap; candle; bleach and shampoo production.
Okoji who made this known during an interactive session with journalists yesterday at the venue of the training in Jalingo metropolis, said the effort was aimed at reducing the high level of youths dependence on white collar jobs.
According to him, the training was already yielding results as trained participants were now in market places across the state.
“This would not only make them to be self reliant but would as well make them employers of labour,” he added.
Okoji further stated the consulting firm responsible for the training, Ifeson Chemical Company, decided to embark on the project in order to give back to the society by reducing the massive unemployment presently confronting the state and the country at large “Considering the high rate of unemployment in the country, our company decided to take positive steps by helping the government to reach out to the unemployed in the entire axis of the countr,” he said.
He further stated that the company was making efforts to collaborate with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on similar trainings even as he said the spate of insecurity in the country was one of the major challenges hampering the organisation from reaching out to the nooks and crannies of the country to train youths on skill acquisitions.
