THE Federal Government’s amnesty training handlers still have a lot of work on their hands by way of training more erstwhile militants, spokesman of the project, Mr. Dan Alabrah, has said.

Alabrah, who was in Warri at the weekend, listed the feats and hurdles on the programme’s path.

According to him, the total number of Niger Delta militants who registered for the amnesty programme was about 22,358 out of which about 11,000 had been trained and about 13,000 were still awaiting training.

While pleading for media caution on the tags used to refer to the amnesty’s beneficiaries, Alabrah argued that it was no longer proper to refer to the youths as former militants since they had undergone training and successfully been reintegrated to the society.
