
In a rare show of integrity, a dry cleaner in Plateau State has earned public praise after returning ₦1,000 he discovered in a customer’s clothing during laundry service.
The incident was shared by a Nigerian man identified online as @CannyMannTaddy, who took to social media to express his shock and admiration after retrieving his laundered clothes from a neighbourhood dry cleaner only to find the missing cash carefully returned.
Recounting the moment, he wrote,
The honest cleaner, described as a Berom man, reportedly went on to show the customer several other instances where he had found money—some as little as ₦200 and others over ₦10,000—while washing clothes, all of which he returned to their rightful owners.
Moved by the man’s actions, the customer pledged to return the ₦1,000 as a gift, stating that the encounter had cemented his trust and loyalty to the dry cleaner.
“This proves that good people still exist, and Plateau State is full of them,” he concluded, using the hashtag #PwolTyang, which means “good heart” in Berom.
The story has since gone viral, drawing applause from Nigerians online who hailed the dry cleaner’s honesty and moral values at a time when many are struggling under economic hardship.
