Saturday Sun gathered that the modus operandi of the gang was that the girl who usually dressed in segxwal and attractive attires always came out on the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway between 7 and 11 pm and flagged down usually unsuspecting motorists pretending to be stranded and needed help.
Immediately their victims stopped, the soldier and five of his recruits would jump out from the nearby bush where they had hidden and robbed their victims armed with guns and machetes, of their belongings and at times, vehicles.
The hoodlums were reported to have on March 5, 2013, along the Port Harcourt Enugu Expressway snatched an SUV Pathfinder with registration number: AKW 32 AG.
The vehicle belonging to Bishop Emeka Nwankpa of Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly International, 33 Junction, near Onitsha, Anambra State was said to be driven by one Charles Okafor at the time of theft. Also the suspects were alleged to have on March 13, at about 4.30pm at Arungwa junction, near an army checkpoint, snatched a Toyota SUV with registration number, AG 461 SSM belonging to Jude Nwaigwe of No. 9 Abdulrahaman Kanu road, Abayi, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government.
They made away with Nwaigwe's vehicle who was travelling to Isiagu in Ebonyi State, together with cash, handsets and other valuables. Luck, however, ran out on the hoodlums when on March 19, through the same mode of operation, they robbed one Francis Obinna of 207 Old Express road, Aba of N28, 500; 10 francs, one Nokia handset and other valuables.
