Rep gives false figure, claims 2.5 billion West Africans are trafficked!!

Chairman House of Representatives Human Rights committee, Beni Lar (Plateau state) claimed Tuesday over 2.5 BILLION West Africans have been trafficked…whatever that means! But trust that that outlandish figure was not contested by any member.

Truth is, the entire Africa, talk less of only West, has got no population close to that figure. If it were true, then it would mean the equivalent of China and India, plus say, Nigeria, would have been trafficked. Current World Bank figure pegs West African population at 245 million.
