I would have advised you move to Lagos state as the government has put a law in place that jails the perpetrators of such crimes. ReplyBut as you are an Igbo lady - it's not safe - you could be "deported" to your state of origin.

Hi, well, that's chika's version of the story , what's the ex-hubby's version ? before we can draw any conclusion regarding their failed marriage. i'm not in anyway or manner alluding to wife battering/abuse of any kind but the truth of the matter is that Nigerian women with due respect to some exceptions does not understand the true meaning of MARRIAGE and the worst culprits are Nigerian women residing in the western societies with their husbands-------and many of them are sending their husbands to jail by the minutes because of the favourable laws that tilt mostly in their favour in these societies------guess what ? the children of these union are the real victims and the society ultimately pays the price when these children grows up to be misfit/miscreants. Quote from: freshprince2009 on 10-08-2013 05:47 PM Women coming out of a failed relationship or marriage always have two excuses: infidelity and domestic abuse even when it is the man that called it quits. All these just to draw public sympathy when in actual fact, most of them only wanted to enjoy the privileges of a married woman while refusing to surrender their independence. You can not eat your cake and still have it. You don talk am finish my broda.

Domestic violence is bad and should not be tolerated. If she is telling the truth then I don't blame her for ending it. Reply![]()

if the guy beats her, then she is right to leave, though it depends on her own behavior. Reply

ALL YOU ARE SAYING ARE NONSENSE. YOU JUST LEAVE UR MARRIAGE BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU HAVE MONEY AND NEEDED AN EXTRA AFFAIRS. YOU DO NOT GET BRAIN AT ALL. THE PRIDE OF A WOMAN IS HUSBAND. NO MAN WILL HEAT A WIFE WITHOUT ANY REASON. Reply
