Campaign posters of Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido have flooded the streets of Kaduna ahead of the presidential elections of 2015 despite warnings from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who banned political campaigns by parties and their aspirants ahead of the elections.

The posters were seen at the popular Lugard Hall, near the State House of Assembly and Station Roundabout in Kaduna North and South Local Government Areas within the metropolis, although the governor at different occasions has denied his perceived 2015 ambition allegations of planning to contest for the presidential seat.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mallam Umar Kyari, however said his boss is “yet to make any formal declaration”, stating that the “posters were printed by people who probably want the governor to contest for the 2015 presidential election”.

He stated further that the “major priority of Governor Lamido at the moment is to develop the state and if the governor decides to pursue the post, he would announce at the appropriate time”.

It will be recalled that the posters bearing the photographs of Governor Lamido as president and his Rivers state counterpart, Chibuike Amaechi as his running mate, flooded the streets of Kaduna and some other states in the north in March last year, before Amaechi decamped to the All Progressive Congress(APC).
