17 Ebola Patients Escape Quarantine In Liberia After It Was Looted
In Liberia 17 Ebola patients have escaped while 10 others were taken away by their families..It happened on Saturday after the center was attacked by armed young men who also looted the center. Rebecca Wesseh, who witnessed the attack, told the Gistmania: “They broke down the door and looted the place. The patients have all gone.” The crowd were reportedly angry that an Ebola isolation centre had been set up in their neighbourhood . The attackers, mostly young men armed with clubs, shouted insults about President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and yelled “there’s no Ebola”, she said, adding that nurses had also fled the centre. [Source]
Nigerian Woman Who Died In Abu Dhabi Showed Signs Of Ebola
A Nigerian woman who had cancer and died in Abu Dhabi had shown signs “that may be consistent with Ebola”, the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi said yesterday. According to Reporters the 35-year-old woman was travelling to India from Nigeria via Abu Dhabi to seek treatment for advanced cancer when her health deteriorated during her time in transit at Abu Dhabi’s airport.

A statement released said, “It was noted at the time of resuscitation that she had shown signs that may be consistent with Ebola virus infection, although her existing medical condition provided an adequate medical explanation,”
The Health Authority said that all of the patient’s contacts, including her husband who had been sitting next to her on the plane and the five medics who tried to resuscitate her “are in isolation pending the result of Ebola testing on the patient. They are all well with no symptoms”.
