
Forced into a financial crisis, the former Portsmouth goalkeeper has decided to sell around 150 items of signed merchandise through Kent-based auctioneer, Hilco with items like signed shirts worn by Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, Michael Owen, Michael Owen, a Holland jersey he swapped with Edwin van der Sar, DJ equipment, a car, 1,800 vinyl records, unused Raleigh Chopper Mk3, a 2005 Jubilee plastic half-mug piece by Alex Garnet with Queen Elizabeth II on the front of it and others put on sale to raise some funds. David James, who retired from the England national team in 2010 after making 53 appearances, has had a successful career playing for a host of clubs including Watford, Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Manchester City, Portsmouth, Bristol City, Bournemouth and IBV. He is currently a goalkeeper and a coach with Indian Super League side, Kerala Blasters FC.
