Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala’s picture took a pride of place among the best of football legends in FIFA’s 2014 events in image.
Her picture while on training at the Canada 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, was displayed in the World football ruling body’s photo gallery for 2014 alongside the likes of Legend, Pele, in a warm embrace with Sepp Blatter, FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Model Adriana Lima posing with Brazil 2014 World Cup mascot, Fuleco.
Other images that made it in the photo gallery includes Germany players celebrating after winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, Iker Casillas celebrating his 700th official appearance for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid and Ivan Vicelich of Auckland City posing with the end of the tournament awards at Morocco 2014.
Known as Superzee by her team mates, Oshoala was FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014’s outstanding player scooping two awards, the adidas golden boot and adidas golden ball as the leading markswoman, finding the back of the net seven times.
During the 2014 African Women Championship hosted by Namibia, Oshoala was instrumental to Super Falcons’ victory in the tournament where Nigeria won the AWC trophy for the seventh time.
She scored both goals in the Super Falcons’ 2-1 semi final victory against Bayana Bayana of South Africa and went ahead to add another goal in the final against Cameroon.
Oshoala again won the Golden Ball Award as the best player of the tournament.
