Manchester United were almost stunned in the first minute but they survived to pick up their most comfortable win of the season, beating Cambridge 3-0 at Old Trafford to qualify for the fifth round of the FA cup.

Old Trafford was almost stunned in the first minute after Blind’s mistake allowed Elliot to sneak in and curl a shot past De Gea. His shot hit the post and that was a wake-up call for Manchester United.

Manchester United seized control of the game and finally took the lead in the 24th minute after Fellaini nodded down Di Maria’s cross into Mata in the six yard box allowing the Spaniard a simple tap home into an empty net. Rojo made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute after Fellaini’s initial shot was blocked, the rebound fell to Van Persie who dinked a cross onto Rojo who made no mistake with his head from six yards. Manchester United controlled the second half but some dogged defending by Cambridge kept them at bay until James Wilson who came on for Van Persie received the ball in the 74th minute and ran at the Cambridge defense before releasing a low drive into the bottom corner to make it 3-0.

Manchester United would now play Preston in the 5th round of the FA cup after Preston also won their replay against Sheffield United.
