A 78-year-old man has been arrested by the Ebonyi state police for sleeping with a six-year-old girl, Uchechi Udume. Her father , Nnachi Ndukwe , who blamed the defilement of his daughter on the absence of his wife; said that since she left him and married another man and he has been finding it difficult to take proper care of his children as he is always busy working hard to sustain the family .
The defiled young girl's father told Us that blood was gushing out from his daughter’s private part after the incident and therefore called on the police to investigate the matter and ascertain whether the suspect did not transmit any segxwally transmitted disease to the victim. He narrated the whole incident to the news outlet
"I came back from work and saw people gathered in my compound and when I asked what happened, they narrated the incident to me. Then I asked to see my daughter and when she was brought to me I saw blood coming from her private part.
“I don’t blame the man, I blame my wife who left me and married another man. Since she left there has been noone around to take proper care of my children ," he said .
The 78-year-old suspect has been arrested by the Afikpo South Police Command in Ebonyi.
